Get your whole team on the same page with BPMN Method and Style training and certification at your site. Get full BPMN Level 1 and Level 2 training with the Method and Style approach in a two-day class, complete with individualized post-class certification. Level 1 – officially recognized in BPMN 2.0 as the Descriptive modeling subclass – uses a limited palette of BPMN shapes and symbols, familiar to business users from traditional flowcharting. Level 2 – the new Analytic subclass – leverages an expanded palette, including intermediate events, for specifying exception handling important to executable process design.
How Does It Work?
If you have 15 or more students, we can provide live training in a 2-day class at your site. You provide the training facility, including projector, AC power for student PCs, and a whiteboard. Students have a choice between itp commerce ViziModeler, an add-in to Microsoft Visio, or Trisotech, a cloud-based BPMN editor. For ViziModeler, you’ll need a PC with Visio 2010 or later installed, and we’ll provide the BPMN add-in. For Trisotech, you’ll need broadband access for each student in class. With both tools, the price of the training includes 60-day use of the tool following the class, and post-class certification.
Who Is the Intended Audience?
Contrary to popular belief, BPMN is not “too complicated” for business users. It does not require a technical background, just a disciplined approach and attention to detail. Our student population is about evenly split between business users on one side and business analysts and architects on the other. The Method and Style approach we teach is oriented to the business analyst/architect, who uses BPMN to communicate process logic both to stakeholders in both the line of business and IT. You’ll learn the shapes and symbols you need to know, and which ones you can ignore, as well as a step-by-step methodology and “style rules” that help ensure the process logic is clear from the printed diagram alone.
What Does the Training Include?
The live-online training includes the following:
- Approximately 15 hours of instruction in 2 days
- 60-day use of BPMN tool, either ViziModeler or Trisotech
- In-class exercises using the tool, with interactive discussion of the solutions
- Hard copy student notes
- Post-class certification based on an online exam plus a mail-in exercise, involving one-on-one interaction with Bruce Silver
